[bigletter]The Lord has laid it on my heart to share this important message, and I trust the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see his express message.[/bigletter]
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord,” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17.
And verse 18 says, “Therefore, comfort one another with these words.”
There is an upcoming, global event that will shake the whole world to its very foundation. There shall be breaking news, reporters from everywhere, announcing the news of departed Christians from all over the globe. Those who miss the great catching-away, the rapture, will listen to the news. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus, that you and I shall not listen to such news.
Be ready, children of God! If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, this is your day to do so. If you’re backslidden, return to the Lord today. If you’re weary, ask God for strength to be faithful.
I believe the Holy Spirit is beginning to whisper to you concerning our Lord Jesus’ return. The trumpet shall sound very soon. It is true that it has been said for many years that the Lord is coming back but signs everywhere in the world are showing that something spectacular is about to happen. His return is imminent. The intensity and frequency of pestilence, infirmity, affliction, temptation, tribulation, persecution, natural disasters, and crisis everywhere have been predicted by our Lord Jesus as recorded in Mathew 24. These things are not coincidences.
The world powers are confused, even large organizations like the World Health Organization and United Nations Organization. The pandemic has revealed that the world powers are not in control. Looking at the depth of confusion and powerlessness of the world powers, we are hopeless!
Our only hope is Jesus.
Our joy and hope is the fact that we can look forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The trumpet will sound, and believers will be taken away suddenly to meet the Lord in the clouds and we shall be with Him forever. So, how should we prepare for this big global event?
“Behold I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You. The voice of the one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make His path straight,’” Mark 1: 1-3.
We must prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. As we prepare the way for His coming through social media contents, movies, music, preaching, teaching, and books, our lifestyle must be in tune with our message. Our message, choices, and lifestyle must tell people that He is coming. Do not only carry your Bible around but let it reflect in your lifestyle (Mathew 5:13-16).
Drama minister, music minister, pastor, teacher, if your message does not contain the salvation of souls, if your message does not contain the Kingdom of God, it is a wasted effort.
You are wasting your time because this is the season of preparation for the coming of Christ. The time is short. This is the time to shout out it on the mountain top, “Jesus is coming back!”
Unlike the five foolish virgins in Matthew 25, unlike many believers who have lost their zeal, hold on! Do not be disappointed that Jesus is not here yet. Do not stray away or be distracted. The current world situation should give you an indication not to sleep. Be spiritually alert. Wake up from your slumber! Enough of stagnancy, enough of worldliness, enough of falling and rising. Stand for Him. Live consciously. Be heaven conscious.
Be encouraged. All our crying is not in vain, all our sacrifices are not in vain. The vigils, the prayers are not in vain. It is because we are at midnight, and we are making the midnight cry. The day will soon be dawning.
And the foolish virgins said to the wise virgins, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out,’ Matthew 25:8.
Like those virgins who were not smart enough to put enough oil in their lamps, it is mere foolishness for a Christian living today not to have the power of the Holy Spirit. These are Christians by name. They go to church but there is no sign of Christ in them, their lifestyle does not reflect Christ. There is no difference between their lifestyle and the lifestyle of an unbeliever. They can quote the word of God, but the manifestation of that word is not inside of them. They compromise at their place of work, they live as unbelievers, and there is no grace in the words of their mouth.
Your life must continually burn bright for people to see the light of Christ in you. Do not be among those who carry the lamp around but there is no light in it. There is too much darkness in the world, and we cannot afford to carry lamps around without light in them.
The wise answered, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves,’ Matthew 25:9.
Do you think that the wise virgins didn’t give their oil because they were stingy? No, they were not stingy. The message here is that you must not allow anyone to deplete the power of the Holy Spirit in you. Do not become sentimental to the point of relinquishing your spiritual power even for a friend. Do not hang out with people who either deplete your anointing, or slow you down. If you cannot encourage such to hasten their speed, drop your association with them. Don’t listen to messages that reduce your anointing or dampen your spirit. Do not listen to music that confuses your mind or makes you doubt your calling.
In Matthew 25 the bridegroom came while the foolish virgins went to buy oil for their lamps. They were not ready, so they were locked out. Are you ready for His coming?
Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming for those who are ready; those who have given their lives to Him and are waiting for His return. Verse 13 says that “…you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” We may not know when, but He is coming. All indications around us are showing that something great is about to happen. I am excited about His coming. Everyday, I eagerly visualize and await His coming. That is why 1 Thessalonians 4: 17-18 says, “comfort yourself with this.” Whenever you remember His coming, you should be happy regardless of your circumstances, regardless of the darkness in the world. You should comfort yourself with the thought of His coming.
May the Lord bless you as you prepare for His coming. We shall make it home at last in Jesus’ name.
