The greatest enemy of a greater tomorrow is today. Until you conquer today, your tomorrow is bleak. The desire for a new thing opens a greater tomorrow; but the inordinate pleasure of today slams the door on a greater tomorrow.
God is the architect and the builder of a new beginning.
Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Without a new beginning, death is close.
When you stay on one accomplishment for too long, you get stale and soon become irrelevant. You must be desperate for a new experience. God challenged His people in Deuteronomy 2:3, “Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.” God keeps reminding His children not to be satisfied with the present but to rather seek greater glory.
Proverbs 4:18 – But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
In the pursuit of a new thing, Jesus wants us to set new records of accomplishment in the Kingdom for His glory. He made it clear in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father.”
The question on the minds of a lot of people is “How do I experience a New Beginning?” I have three prescriptions.
1. The problem around you is a key to a new beginning – Every new beginning is an answer to a problem or a challenge. The emergence of Joseph in Egypt was a solution to a problem and that was a new beginning. The emergence of Esther in Shushan was a solution to a problem and that was a new beginning. Anyone who wants to experience a new beginning must have a problem-solving mentality, take cognisance of surrounding problems, desire always to serve, become an answer to questions and a solution to problems.
The MZIAIF is a new thing set out as an answer to questions and a solution to problems, positioned for great impact for the end time agenda of God.
2. Get the right people on board your life – “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” (Proverbs 13:20). Many Kingdom accomplishments require the Kingdom mindset of unity and love amongst brethren. Jesus chose twelve disciples to work with in His earthly ministry; but Peter, James and John were unique from the beginning to the end. Who are your companions? Who do you have on your team? That can determine failure or success. The MZIAIF must, continuously have brethren with Kingdom mindset come together to do great things as we have already started to do.
3. Whatever the Lord asks you to do, just do it – The final point is the counsel of Mary, the Mother of Jesus to the couple in Cana of Galilee. It was a new beginning for the couple but also a new beginning for the ministry of Jesus on earth being his first miracle.
That new beginning anchored on following instructions. “Whatever he asks you to do, do it.” (John 2:5). For a new beginning we must be willing to trust and obey the Lord.
A new beginning is the plan of God for his children. It is not an ambition but a heritage of every true child of God, to experience a new beginning. We must however continue to be the light in darkness, salt for seasoning, answers to questions and solutions to problems. Better days are ahead. Do not let the achievements of today delay the greater glory of tomorrow because “the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former.” (Haggai 2:9).
It is a new beginning! Let us rise to this new beginning. Jesus is Lord! Amen.
