Divine Plot Twist

2020: what a year
Men’s hearts failing: so much fear
Never before seen across the world
Terror unfolded like a snake uncurled.

Campuses, neighborhoods and towns
Even whole countries in lockdown
No one spared: sinner or righteous
All held to ransom by one virus.

Travel restricted, loved ones stranded
Unprecedented pressures suddenly landed
People struggled to buy and sell
Could the righteous really say: “it is well”?

Swept away was everything
Man could rely on
But God’s people would trust Him
And be unmoved like Mount Zion.

As the Lord would have it
There was a divine plot twist
Out of Earth’s global chaos
Arose a kingdom catalyst!

Believers could no longer meet
It seemed the Church had suffered defeat
The enemy had an evil design
But the Lord planned Kingdom expansion online!

Hearts of saints by passion gripped
Through righteous training got equipped
Suddenly God’s people understood:
The Lord was working all things together for good!

Sowing: instructing saints in righteousness
Growing: transformation in Christlikeness
Serving: using sanctified creativity
Lifting up Jesus through humble ministry.

Moving men from mere survival
To pure, holy, powerful revival
Bringing messages of repentance
To a hungry, thirsty, desperate audience.

Taking the message of salvation
North, south, east, west: to every nation
The Holy Spirit at work in this generation
Changing lives through divine regeneration.

What was meant for evil
God in wisdom used for good
So we will fear no storms
We’ll go like the bible says we should.

Now let’s enter with boldness
Into the New Year
With new beginnings, we’re winning
Be of good cheer!
