God Will Send Somebody

When the chips are down,
And no help around the town,
When the sun is dark at dawn,
And no visibility on the lawn,
God will send somebody.

When the miles ahead are long,
And no merriment to sing a song,
When nothing is left of my mite,
After I have put in all my might, 
God will send somebody.

When my way is full of darkness,
And no one to show me goodness,
When everyone around stab my back, 
And in everything I am in lack,
God will send somebody.

Then my sun will shine again,
And my strength will I regain,
When everything around is bright,
And my darkness is turned to light,
For God has sent somebody.
