May I tell you that 1 Corinthians 1:25 which says “the foolishness of God is wiser than men” is currently happening in our age. There are on-going discussions and debates about whether believers will go before the great tribulation or thereafter. However, I will not delve into that now.
I only call our attention to the fact that God is doing a very strange work in our days.
We all know that there was COVID-19, then the lockdowns that disrupted the normal ways of life. Schools were closed. Churches were closed and so disciples started meeting online. Today, almost every Church has an online presence. Hence, many pastors and Christians who were previously not computer literate or ICT-compliant have been forced to learn the new technology, else they cannot reach their members like they used to. May I say that today, we have got used to this new normal way of life. Some countries and cities are still under lockdown and services are held online. These very lockdowns that looked disturbing and uncomfortable at first have indeed become God’s way of reaching many previously non-Church-goers, reaching the lost online, and more importantly, it is God’s wise way of preparing His Church for the worst time to come – when the Church will become the world’s public enemy Number 1.
Whether the rapture occurs before the Great Tribulation or after it, the online mode of meeting, preaching, teaching, and reaching the lost for Christ has come to stay and will play a very crucial role in that age. May I say that perhaps this is part of God’s way of preparing us for that time of Jacob’s trouble. And, this may be a part of the ways to fulfil that prophecy of Jesus in Matthew 24:14 that says “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Now, notice that it says, “shall be preached in… for a witness or testimony unto all nations…” before the end comes. It did not say they would necessarily “accept” that gospel, but that it would be preached as a “witness” or “testimony” unto them. I suppose that there may be no smarter way to reach the end of the world from one spot, than the use of the internet.
Great persecution is gradually and increasingly coming against the Church on a daily basis across the globe. There is an increased censorship of gospel messages and the reports of global Christian persecutions worldwide by the so-called tech giants. However, it is obvious that the church does not have her own alternative platform or application of global proportions, powered by the Church or Church organizations. Such independent church apps that do not depend in any way upon the worldly world giant techs are needed. This is important especially as messages will become extremely tampered with while they pushback against the gospel; censor Christian preachers; take down posts, pages, or entire Church websites in order to prevent the gospel from further reaching unto the ends of the earth. The global clampdown that is soon to arrive upon the Church is Satan’s last bid to stop the Gospel.
God’s Wisdom now prepares us for that time to come and also warns us to prepare for it. The Church must be independent in all its technological set-ups, or else that time might meet us unprepared.
May I also say that “Let him who has ears hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Churches”? The time is coming and almost now is. The Church must be prepared. If we could pray for the winter in the time of Jacob’s trouble (Matthew 24:20; Mark 13:18) and pray against the Sabbath (Matthew 24:20), we definitely much more can pray for tech giants to arise from within the Church of Christ to help the Body prepare against the time to come and withstand the strength of the opposing force. You can have the vision. Have this dream and work towards it. Perhaps you are the Moses of technology for this and the coming generation.
In summary, God is preparing us. His Wisdom and Spirit are now preparing us.
We must be wise, understand the time and season, and respond positively. We must be fully prepared for the evil days to come. Brethren in Christ, let’s redeem the time because the days are indeed evil (Ephesians 5:13). In Colossians 4:5, we are prophetically admonished to “walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” “Let him who has ears hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Churches (Revelation 2:29).”
Shalom! Remain blessed!
