Praise the Lord! Our God is good, our God is wonderful, our God is gracious. Worship the Lord. Appreciate God. Give Him praise. Ask God for a garment of praise; a garment of praise to appreciate God, to honor Him, to exalt Him for what He is assuring us that He has already done.
“I will extol thee, my God, O King; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”
(Psalms 145: 1-2)
Our Father, we are grateful, we honor You. We exalt Your name for the assurance of Your presence, Your power and Your anointing for us this year. You have said You’ve already gone ahead of this year, You have already prepared the way before us. We magnify Your holy name, we exalt You, we adore You. One generation shall praise Thy works to another and shall declare Thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honor of Thy majesty and of Thy wondrous works (Psalms 145).
Lord, we declare Your greatness, we honor You, we exalt You. We know You are here with us. You have gone ahead of us, You are walking with us, You will never leave us. Lord, You are a mighty God, You are a great God, You are a powerful God. We honor You, we exalt Your holy name.
Psalm 145 from verse 7 says, “They shall abundantly utter the memory of Thy great goodness and shall sing of Thy righteousness. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all and His tender mercies are over all His works.” Appreciate Him, honor Him.
Verse 10 says, “All Thy works shall praise thee, O Lord and Thy saints shall bless thee.” So if you are one of the saints, begin to appreciate the King of glory. Verse 11 continues, “They shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom and talk of Thy power.” That is what God will do. We are going to speak of His power. People will ask us how it is going with us, how we are able to do it. The Bible says we are going to speak of the glory of His kingdom and talk of His power. Look at verse 12, it says, “To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts.”
If you are going to make it known to the sons of men, open your mouth and praise Him. Say “Lord, people will see Your glory in my life, and I will make known the power of God.” You will tell them it is God. You will ask them to come and taste our God too. This coming year, you are going to be among the saints that will declare the name of the Lord and make known His mighty acts. It says, “Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and Thy dominion endureth throughout generations.” That is our God. I want you to praise Him.
When we are talking about incredible expansion, we are talking about astonishing increase and unbreakable protection. You know what that means? Protection that the enemy can do nothing about. They will not be able to penetrate, however terribly they may want to operate. God will protect us, God will shield us, God will cover us with His presence.
CREATE TIME TO PRAISE GOD
Do you know why you should praise God this year? Number one: because He says in Isaiah 54: 2, “Enlarge the place of thy tent, enlarge the place of thy tent.” Receiving the garment of praise is one of the ways to enlarge the place of thy tent and to stretch forth the curtains of thine habitation and to spare not, to lengthen thy cords and to strengthen thy stakes. You must praise God this year. Let praises be so heavy in your heart. Let the praise of God be so strong in your heart. You must create time to praise God. The more we praise God, the more God releases strength on us. Because the battle will really rage and the devil wants to rage and distract, but the more we praise God, the more we receive strength to keep moving. So, cultivate the habit of praising God this year. Determine to honor God with your life. Create time to praise Him.
KEEP YOUR FAITH
The second point is keeping your faith. Be unmovable. Let your faith be strong in the Lord. Avoid distractions that will affect your faith or that which will distract your attention from God. Do not allow it!
“Fear not, for thou shall not be ashamed, neither be thou confounded, for thou shall not be put to shame. For thou shall forget the shame of thy youth and shall not remember the reproach of thy widowhood anymore.” (Isaiah 54: 4)
That is the word of God, so the best way to do that is to receive faith. Hold onto your faith. Jairus is a good example. In Luke 8: 41- 42 this man asked Jesus Christ to come and pray for his daughter.” As Jesus followed him to go and heal his daughter, people started coming from everywhere to receive their healing and Jesus was not able to get there on time. Distraction set in. In verse 49 we see that, “While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house saying to him, your daughter is dead, trouble not the Teacher.” That is the distraction one can receive: an evil report even while Jesus was already following him to heal the daughter. But notice that Jesus said to the man, “fear not, only believe and she shall be made whole.”
You see, the Bible says “the just shall live by faith.” That is what we need this year, my brethren. You need to hold on to your faith to receive everything God has promised us. You must hold onto your faith; the devil is still alive and well. He will still want to distract you. Look at that evil report trying to distract Jairus from trusting the Lord even though Jesus was with him. The devil attacked his faith but Jesus told him, “Be not afraid, just believe.” So, this incredible expansion we are talking about, astonishing increase we are talking about, unbreakable protection, the protection that the devil cannot even come close to, they are all real, because that is the promise of God.
Jesus was following the man to go and heal his daughter, Jesus had assured him He would heal his daughter. But see what the devil brought along the way. It was enough to discourage the man, it was enough for him to say, “ah Master, don’t bother, don’t worry yourself, you can go back.” This year there will be distractions, evil reports that may want to come your way, but God is emphasizing it to us that we should fear not. Jesus looked at that man and said “don’t fear, don’t be afraid, I am still with you, your daughter will be alive.” Everything you have been trusting God for, concerning your life, and concerning your home; God is assuring you this moment and this year that there is going to be unbreakable protection and undeniable miracles that the whole world will see, and the Lord will give you the mouth to speak over your enemy. These things are all real, but God is saying hold on to your faith. Do not be discouraged. They may come like a whirlwind just the way they came at Peter when he was walking with Him on the sea. But if we fix our eyes on Jesus we shall overcome. We shall keep experiencing the wonders God has promised us, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
SPEND TIME TO HEAR GOD
Spend time to hear God speak to you. This year, do not rely on man. Let your heart be on God. This means spending time in God’s presence, in prayer. Isaiah 40 says they that wait upon the Lord, they that seek God, they that have time for God, He will renew their strength. We need the strength of God to be able to accomplish everything. He wants to work through us, but He needs our attention. So, we must create time to be in the Lord’s presence. Increase your prayer life. Spend time to hear from God yourself.
When the Israelites were going to be destroyed, Mordecai came to the palace looking sad. He told Esther to go to the king to make supplication for her people and to make requests before him for her people. That was the word of Mordecai because the man was confused. The man knew that Esther would be the solution to the problem, but Esther did not just act promptly and go to the king. Esther said in Chapter 4, Verse 16, “Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Shushan and fast for me. Neither eat nor drink 3 days, night or day and I also and my maidens will fast likewise and so will I go unto the king which is not according to the law, and if I perish, I perish.” She replied with the word of God. She sought the face of her Father in heaven. Likewise, take time to hear from God. Receive instructions from Him. So many things will come our way to confuse us, but spend time waiting in His presence, because that is where victory is. All these things God is talking about: the astonishing increase, the unbelievable expansion, that is the mind of God, and from the word of God. But God is saying for these things to be easy for us, we must seek His face.
Reply everything that comes with prayer and the word. Receive a word from your Father. What is God telling you to do in this situation? Maybe you are faced with something too high, too terrible, ask God. Spend time in His presence and see how God will begin to open doors, how God will begin to guide our ways.
I pray for somebody today; you will not be tired of coming into the Lord’s presence in Jesus name. The Lord will increase your strength to be able to wait in His presence, to be able to call upon Him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
REMOVE EVERY IDOL FROM YOUR HEART
Every idol in our hearts must be removed. That is, we must empty ourselves always. Enlargement is for God’s glory. God wants to take the glory. He wants to demarcate and show those who are serving Him. He wants to showcase His children to the world. He wants to glorify Himself in our lives. So, it is not about us. It is not about what you can do. It is about what God can do through you and that is the more reason why you must let go of self. Let go of everything that would hinder God or that will backfire later. Deal with that idol before this miracle begins to happen.
Remember Judas. He was following Jesus Christ. He was anointed along with others to minister. He healed the sick; and when they were coming back, they were rejoicing telling Jesus what God did through them. But Jesus said they should not rejoice because of that, but because their names were written in the book of life. So, God is more mindful of our lives. Look at what happened to Judas, that thing he failed to deal with. Covetousness eventually killed him. While following Jesus Christ he was still walking in covetousness. He was still stealing; he was still working against God while following Jesus until he eventually sold the Master.
Whatever will hinder God’s glory in your life, the Lord will destroy by fire in the name of Jesus Christ. Judas messed up, he killed himself because of the things of this world. The same thing with Elisha’s servant. He was supposed to receive double power. Elisha received double power from Elijah. Can you imagine what would have been Gehazi’s portion? But because of covetousness, because he failed to deal with the idol in his life, the thing came up later and he messed up. He received double wahala, double problem. I pray that as we are looking up to heaven, that everything God has promised us, He will fulfill it.
The Bible is still emphasizing the need for us to strengthen our stakes. That means we should strengthen ourselves, prepare ourselves, open ourselves up to God, place our body on His altar, so that everything God will do will be established through you and through me, in the mighty name of Jesus.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that we will scale through. The Lord will cleanse us. Every idol in our lives will be removed so that God can fulfill His purpose in our lives, in the mighty name of Jesus.
PRAYER
Pray for yourself, say:
- “Lord, in this year I want to praise you. I want to keep worshiping Your name” because the devil would want us to forget what God has done in the past. Every problem that has happened, God helped us to scale through by His mercy.
- “Lord, fill me with the garment of praise. Let your praise enter into my spirit. Lord, take over my life. I want to be appreciating You, I want to be glorifying You, I want to be praising You. I want my life to praise You. I want to praise You with my life. Be glorified in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.”
- “Lord, give me divine direction.” That is what Esther craved to receive from God and God opened her eyes to do the right thing. He gave her wisdom to deal terribly with the enemy. God fought for them.
- “God, I receive divine direction. I want to love coming into Your presence. Do not let me be tired of coming, Lord. Strengthen me by your Spirit. I want to strengthen myself in You. You said we should enlarge the place of our tents, we should enlarge ourselves, we should be ready for what You want to do. Lord help me, help me to walk with You. Help me to abide in You. Help me to be strengthened by Your Spirit. I need divine direction. I want to be hearing Your voice as I go into Your word. As I read the scriptures, as I wait in Your presence through prayer, I receive divine direction daily. I want to keep seeking You, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.’
- “Father, everything that is not of you in my life, please, deal with it. I place my body on God’s altar, let the fire come and consume anything that is not of You, any works of the devil. I do not want to lose out at the end of the day. I want You to take the glory over my life. You are the one that will be glorified. God cannot share His glory with anybody. Every spirit of pride let them die by fire in my life. Humble my spirit oh God, begin to reign in me. Be glorified in my life. Thank You, heavenly Father, in Jesus Christ’s name.”
- Father, we are grateful because You are purging us. You are preparing us for the future. We are grateful for the wonderful plans You have for our lives. We pray, Lord Jesus Christ, that we will continue to praise You all the days of our lives.
- Oh Father, please help us to appreciate You with our lives. Let people see us and see the glory of God and appreciate You. We pray Father that You will guide our steps, we do not want to miss it. Where You have not sent us, we do not want to go. What You have not asked us to do, we do not want to poke our nose into it. We want to be satisfied in You. Grant us divine direction. Guide our steps. Lead us. Help us to wait in Your presence, and as we wait in Your presence, you will help us to fly like eagles, in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Father, we commit ourselves into your hands. Lord, deal with any idol in our lives. Send down Your fire to consume whatever You know the enemy will use against us. Is it pride, unforgiveness? Anything that may be used by the devil to hinder what You want to do, let the fire of the Holy Ghost root them out. Let the old man die by fire, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Cleanse us with Your blood. Sanctify us and use us for Your glory. Thank You heavenly Father. We magnify Your holy name. You are a merciful God. We glorify You forever Lord, in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
