Hey friend!
Suicide is not the best option.
Are you so depressed that you want to end it all? Do you feel life is hopeless and the only option left is to end it all? Please, don’t! There is hope in Jesus Christ. He is touched by the feelings of our infirmities. He can and will help you. Suicide will only cut your life short and lead you to eternal condemnation. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Suicide would have been a valid response if death was the end of life; but friend,
death is the beginning of another life, and that life is for eternity.
You must have been through a lot of pain to get to this point, but see hope in our Lord Jesus Christ; He came for this purpose. You don’t have to stay defeated. With your trust firmly in Him, prayerfully consider the following:
1. Identify the problems but don’t dwell on them.
Is it a
• Social problem: Not being accepted, bullied, feeling inferior?
• Economic problem: Low income, unemployment, business problems, bankruptcy?
• Pressure: From relatives, friends, and society?
Ask for wisdom from God to take the next right step, one step at a time, with the Lord guiding you. Seek godly counsel and/or professional help from a mental health professional such a psychologist/psychiatrist.
2. Notice good things about yourself.
It is a lie from the pit of hell to think that there is nothing good about your life. You are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Search inward and you will discover how much the Lord has blessed you; notice these things. Acknowledge every good thing that is in you in Christ (Philemon 1:6). Focus on the fact that God loves you!
3. Don’t keep to yourself.
You may find it hard, but try to relate with people who can encourage you. Loneliness makes things worse.
4. Worry less and plan more.
This may be difficult at first, but guard your heart and mind daily. Renew your mind with scriptures (Isaiah 41:10, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 10:13, Philippians 4:6, Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 12:27, Philippians 4:6-7)
5. Most importantly, give your life to Jesus if you have not done so.
If you have, please re-dedicate your life to Him. Jesus is the Prince of peace. He gives the peace that passes all understanding. Study His word and pour out your heart to Him.
6. Finally, know that you are precious and loved.
Consider the pain you will leave in the hearts of your loved ones.
