INT. DAY. JAY’S HOME
Jay, 15, and his mom are at home. Jay is reading his Bible with rapt attention and did not notice his mom standing there staring at him in amazement.
Mom
Jay, I have been observing you for about two weeks now. You have changed. I’m happy. You don’t make trouble, fight, lie, party, steal, or give me headaches any longer. Oh! I’m so happy. Thank you.
Jay
Mom, thanks to the Bible.
Mom
The Bible? (Surprised)
Jay
Yes, the Bible! The Bible is the book of God. My friend Eva gave me the Bible as a gift. It talks about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Mom
That’s good news! May I get a copy too? It’ll be nice to stop fighting with your dad.
Jay
No, mom! You have to accept Jesus into your heart first. Then I will give you the Bible.
Dad enters with Betsy, Jay’s little sister, 10.
Dad
My dearest wife! I heard everything. Jay, give me Jesus too! I want to stop fighting and stop getting angry.
Betsy
Me too!
Jay
Okay. You can all have Jesus in your hearts right now. But guess what? (They look at him eagerly.) Those changes you mention are just icing on the cake!
Dad
Really?
Jay
The most important part of accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is that you get to spend the whole of eternity with God. (They all share happy glances.) Now say, “Lord Jesus. Have mercy on me. I am a sinner. I believe You died on the cross for me. As from today, I make You my Lord and Savior forever. Now I am Your disciple. I will follow You, Jesus. I will read my Bible every day and obey it. Thank You for saving me, Lord. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
You too can repeat Jay’s prayer with your loved ones. You can become a Christian today.
